I've abandoned AllTrails in favour of Strava for planning all my runs, bikes, hikes etc. My one gripe is every time the screen locks and then is unlocked, Strava tries to refresh the map and if you've moved out of service you lose the map. My workaround is to turn my phone to aeroplane mode while I still have service and have the map cached.
